Day 150: Burnt Orange & Getting my FF on

Today, Mark and I went for brunch at Burnt Orange. It is the latest place to go in Mosman. The harbour foreshore is being opened up more and more. So many nice places to eat at now which use to be 'closed' to the public. Burnt Orange has an interesting history.

I really enjoyed my food, but Mark didn't enjoy his. I think he was unlucky though and we will try again. It was very busy so we had to wait for a table as we didn't book. It seemed like half of Mosman was there. Great views of the harbour can be had (although not clear from my pics). And it has an AMAZING gift shop! Go and check it out.

My food was yum.

Mark didn't rate his eggs benedict.

Isn't it fabulously colonial?

I then got my FF on finally got to filing my 6 months + build up of mail. I hate it when you find something you should have attended to sooner. Must be more up to date with this. Such a satisfying feeling when finished though!

Mark thought I was just making a big mess but I explained I had a system going on.

Oh free movie tickets for being a good customer!

Oh it's expired, I really should open mail sooner. (note if people want me to read something urgently you should email me!).

Day 149: Haircut and Fish

Today I ventured over to Surry Hills for a hair cut. Why did I venture so far? Well curly hair is notorously hard to cut. I was pretty happy with my cut from Orla today, who I had been told is very proficient with curly hair. I left satisfied.

I then had a lovely late lunch at Morh Fish Care. I realy enjoyed it, I had dory with a grape and pinenut dressing. The grapes in particular were very nice.

Day 148: More Gold

A humorous take on so called 'unanswered questions'.

And a good rebuttal.

Day 147: The Back Up Plan

KK and I went and saw this today and really enjoyed. I thought the story was good and it was quite funny. And this is coming from someone who cannot stand J-Lo. Before the movie we had some Japanese, it is always great to catch up with KK.

Day 145: 24 Finale

Hot on the heels of the Lost finale was the 24 finale. Ive loved this series over the year, but i think it should have ended 1-2 seasons ago. It was getting a little forced. I did like how Jack went bad ass in the final season though.

I thought the final screen shot was a little lame. Looking into the drone...

Day 144: The Lost Finale

Epic. Still digesting. I understood it (some people are way confused). Am I 100% satisfied? Probably not, but I pretty darn close.

What a ride.

And so it ends how it begun...

Day 140 to 143: So sue me if you want to.

But its my blog and if I want to skip a few days, I will!

Day 139: Robin Hood

Mark and I went on a dinner and movie date. The movie was tres excellent but then what else can you expect from Sir Rusty and Lady Cate. Rusty what at his best in save-the-day 'protector' mode.

Day 138: Breakfast at Tiffany's

One of my most favourite movies ever. I like the book too.

Day 137: Princess Diana

She was something. So regal. I remember clearly when she died. I was 17 and at home, I think it was school holidays. My friend Alicia rang me and said to turn on the TV. I was in shock. I kept repeating for days "she was the peoples' princess" and "she was the queen of hearts". My parents eventually told me it was getting a bit repetitive. How rude, I was grieving.

Day 134: Sydney's Nobu & Gary from masterchef

On Friday night Mark and I went to Sake which is relatively new in town. People are saying it's Sydney's Nobu. It is next door to Argyle. We booked late but were lucky enough to get a seat on the bar which is perfectly fine. We ate non raw as I don't like raw but all the raw stuff looked top notch. Gary from master chef arrived part way through our meal and sat on the bar the same as us 2 seats away. I don't think he booked in order to surprise them - he mainly ate raw and seemed well satisfied ;) I was very impressed with the service and the host in particular was all over Mark & I and Gary and his wife because we were doing recon for a group booking for my 30th, I got a detailed tour from the host, and probably Gary was treated well as he is influential in the food industry! ;)

The food was great!!!

Best edamame I've ever had!

Yummy non raw starters and a lovely japaenese cocktail "springtime in toyko"

Another cocktail (readers should be familiar with my love of cocktails!) Mark had sake (I didnt like it! too alcoholic for me) and some asahis

Gary from masterchef

Delicious steak - I requested medium, rather than medium rare which is how it is supose to come, and they complied :) we also had yummy miso butterfish but I forgot to take a photo.

Delicious desserts

I definitely recommend a visit!

Day 131: Für Elise

So I also have a song by the great Beethoven for my name sake. (hey give me a break this blog is about Elise after all!). I love this song, always have. It is my ring tone which I think is appropriate since the call is for "for Elise".

Day 129: More Hayden + A big walk

Mark and I started out Sunday with a HUGE walk around the famous Mt Panorama. We went the way the cars go, which means it was 95% up hill making it a great cardio workout. We didn't go as fast as the V8s.

We then had mothers day lunch and my little Nephew came. He is really adorable.
