Day 199: I bought a Car!

My husband and I have been looking around for a car for me for a little while - we knew what we wanted, a BMW 120i. We saw a good price on an Oct 09 demo model and decided to go check it out at the dealership. It is black (the colour I wanted) and gorgeous and a great price so we bought it! yay! We pick it up Thursday. I can't wait!

Here is a couple of pics of my new baby:

Day 191: 30th birthday bash

Tonight I had my 30th birthday bash. I had a vision for my party - I wanted a private space, I wanted a sit down dinner, private bar, good music, all my close friends, good food, and something classy. I was happy with the end result. We got a The Suite at The White Horse in Surry Hills. I had 3 tables of 10 and we put on a 3 course meal. Everyone said the food was excellent which was great to hear. We decorated with tea light candles and red roses. Initially I wanted cottage style flowers and then I realised I was born in July not January so went with dramatic red roses. the stylish Miss Kitty-Cat suggested I do them short and straight in square glasses - I thought this was a great idea. Mark & I sourced the vases (2 per table) in the day and some red roses, we supplemented with some of the ones Mark got me earlier in the week as we had 6 vases to fill. Mark did a great job putting them together. He also put together a photo slide show for my guests to view on the plasma and a great music selection - he is the best! I had a fabulous night. I also got spoilt rotten with all the fabulous gifts I got from my guests :) :) Thanks to my hubby for putting in so much effort and to all my fabulous guests who came and made my night so enjoyable! xxx

Kim & I - my hair is straight + I'm wearing my fabulous new necklace from my family

Day 187: The Big 30

My birthday. The big 30.

I had a fabulous day and was truly spoiled! Mark lived up to his reputation and delivered me 2 dozen red roses to work with chocolates and a facial voucher.

Morning tea: Awesome cake with work colleagues

Lunch: Kel, my BFF, took me out for a lovely lunch :) Kel also gave me some lovely flowers to brighten up my work station.

Evening: Mark spoilt me rotten. I knew he was taking me out but I dint know where we were going. I was told to meet him at Establishment. Once I got there he took me up in the lift to Hemmesphere for some awesome cocktails. It was really cool here, I had never been to this part of Establishment before. There is awesome lounges and chairs with table service. The cocktails were all unique, delicious and exceptional. The ones Marked ordered came with a sorbet to clear the palette and then a champagne chaser - fancy.

Then he took me down towards the Quay. I guessed where we were headed where we veered towars the opera house and I was right - Aria. Matt Moran's awesome restaurant. The food and service were exceptional (as was the price haha).
Very dark ihone photo and a photo from the website since my photo is too dark

What a fantastic day and night!!! My husband really knows how to spoil me. Oh and wondering what my official present was - the LX3 I had been lemming for a while now. Remember this post? http://elise365.blogspot.com/2010/03/day-83-lemming-lx3.html
And here are my lovely 2 dozen roses set up at home. Flowers from Kel at work and roses from Mark at home - that way I have something lovely to look at 24/7 :)

Day 184: Early 30th birthday celebrations with my family

The celebrating has begun...

Today I travelled up to the blue mountains to meet my mum, dad, brother Lachlan, brother Ryan, sister in law Elise and nephew Hayden. I had a great day. First of all we met in Leura and had some coffee and morning tea/brunch. We then wandered through all the little galleries and gift shops. Most enjoyable. We then went for lunch at The Con at Wentworth falls which had a great view of the blue mountains. After lunch we went for a bushwalk down to the falls. I wish I knew this in advance, I was wearing flimsy ballet shoes with ZERO support (as my husband would say "inappropraite footwear again!"). I felt every jolt going down and had to cling for my life coming back up. I was grateful for my brother Lachlan being behind me on the way back up in case i fell since very slippery. I almost didn't make it to 30 LOL.

View from The Con

My cute nephew Hayden. (he didn't order off the menu).

PRESENTS. Lovely vintage jewellery that I LOVE. Thanks all!!! (note iphone pics dont do the pieces justice)

Day 183: Brithday leave (aka day off!)

My work gives you your birthday off. However, because I was going to be quite busy at work on my actual birthday :(, I took it today instead.

I chilled out at home, tidied the house so that cleaner could clean it thoroughly, went and saw the latest Twilight film to see what all the fuss was about. It was ok but True Blood is where it's at people.

No offence (don't you love it when people start sentences with that?!), but Edward is a bit of a vampiric loser compared to Eric or even Bill. JMO LOL. However, I do rate Daddy Cullen. I like him on Nurse Jackie too.

Day 181: Happy EOFYS

Although I am a CA, its no long Happy EOFY, it is Happy EOFYS thanks to catchy marketing tunes from Foxtel. Back when I started out it 'in the Biz' it was just "30 June Party" cue BIG formal dinner, drinks and dancing, just the way I like it. Sadly this 30 June I worked VERY LATE. We did have a lunch the next day though, that is something I guess... Times are tough people, times are tough!
