Kel, Toni and I got ready at Kel's Nans place. Kel's folks place was the venue for the reception and we didnt want to get it messy. The morning went pretty well but we were running majorly late in the end. Oh well they waited for us! The Greek Orthodox priest was pretty good - he said everything in greek and then english (sometimes its just Greek) and he told us all what to do quietly and helpful, because besides the groom no one in the bridal party was Greek. He also kept it pretty short at around 40 mins (apparently some go way longer!) which was good since everybody had to stand, not just the bridal party. So yes they did the crowning and the kissing of the bibles and we all walked around 3 times and all went well. You know in a Greek orthodox ceremony people don't say vows or even 'I do' but none the less you get married and then you sign the paperwork. You don't usually get to kiss the bride either but this priest sad quietly "you may kiss but NOT TOO MUCH!" hehe so they risked a quick peck. Ha ha, save the rest for the wedding night kids!
So then we all walked out and said hello to everyone and then went for some photos around Brisbane water and then to Kel's folks place for the reception. Was a great day and night and I was honoured to be by my best friend's side who looked absolutely gorgeous by the way. Congrats to Kellie and Terry!
(and so ends my wedding season! ;.... until the next one rolls around - we have 3 scheduled for Spring so far!)
